Emmet was given his first DJ break in the late 80’s by the legendary DJ, Alan Handscombe. Bitten by the bug of playing the music he was so passionate about, there was no turning back.
Throughout the 90’s he ran his own nights in Brixton fusing Reggae, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass, before hooking up with Mo Wax as a regular guest DJ and then going on to join The Honest Jons Sound System.
Emmet co-founded Answer with Will Bankhead, a clothing line which achieved cult-like status around the globe in its eight years of existence
Since July 2015 he has been running Kent’s only monthly reggae night, Creation at The Black Cat in Margate. Creation is his very successful reggae night, but is also the clothing label he runs with business partner Paul Sid.
Emmet cut his ‘radio teeth’ on DWR’s reggae show Roots Locker for most of 2015 as a resident guest host alongside the show’s founder, his good friend Jenx.
The Shakedown is a celebration of black music through the ages, so get on board for a soulful journey taking in Blues, R&B, Ska, Gospel, Rocksteady, Doo Wop, Reggae, Northern Soul and beyond.
Boundaries don't exist in music as far as Emmet is concerned.
