Dean started DJ’ing and promoting clubs in the early 80’s, selecting soul, funk and rare groove. Then when the acid house explosion happened Dean was very much part of it, DJ’ing all over the planet, becoming resident at the infamous Soho club Flying, managing Flying Records and running Cowboy Records. As the 90’s progressed Dean formed his own band The Aloof on his new label Flaw Recordings. It wasn’t long before EastWest / Warner Bros signed them for a worldwide album deal, and so it was recording & touring around the globe for the next 7 years. Dean still runs a monthly club in Soho called Studio 45 and DJ’s in Ibiza, playing Soul, Ska, Rhythm’n’Blues and a bit of this’n’that, but he now lives in Thanet and runs clubs around the Isle with his like minded partner in crime Richard Epps. Richard has always been a record collector, searching for that hard to find nugget that he’s heard at those nights that are a bit special. So it was inevitable that Richard was going to be a successful DJ as well as promoting his own do’s. Richard is also well known for his artwork, portraits of music stars in his own distinguished style, as well as designing club visuals and flyers. Dean & Richard started working side by side with their own night Diggin’ Deep, and the chemistry & bounce was instant. The future is lookin’ good.
